The "Gift of Life" is Priceless
Mothers’ Center of Southwest Nassau once again co-sponsored a blood drive at Hewitt Elementary School in Rockville Centre on December 7, 2013. There was a remarkable turnout as everyone realized the “gift of life” is priceless.
The Mother Center members came from surrounding neighborhoods, including Valley Stream, Oceanside, Baldwin, Island Park, Lynbrook and East Rockaway to support this worthy cause. The center believes in community outreach and has made donating blood a priority on their list.
Dianne Robinson of the New York Blood Center stated, “The blood drive donated 109 pints of blood that will go on to save 327 people's lives. The blood donated will stay right here in the New York area and possibly save someone you know. This drive would not have been a success without all of the help from the Mothers’ Center of Southwest Nassau and the community who care so much about one another. We have made a true difference in hundreds of lives.”

The Mothers’ Center of Southwest Nassau offers mothers a chance for reflection, discussion and learning. This is done with exciting and interesting discussion groups which provide parental support to new and experienced moms. “Meeting new friends, great groups, yoga and knowing my child is having a great time in the childcare room is really what I love about the center” adds a new member. The center also offers social events, mommy & me and a nursery school. For more information please call 516-599-7788 or mcswn.weebly.com.
