RVC Ice Hockey Club/Spartans Team first game

What an impressive start for the RVC Spartans first game of the 2013-2014 season,at the Long Beach Arena. Playing a tough team like Wantagh/Seaford and taking the puck to them show's great promise for the future. A big stand up job in goal by Brian Albertsen and a great supporting job by the defense.

The Scoring started with the Spartans first ever goal by Peter Piekarski with 8:58 of the first period. The second goal came at 14:40 of the second by Pat Kavanagh. Then followed by Brendan Daly scoring the 3rd goal of the game giving the Spartans a 3-2 lead. Brett Dougan scored at 3:25 making the score4-2.Wantagh/Seaford came back with their 3rd goal and Spartans Andrew Cardi scored with 1:27 left in the second period to make it 5-3 Spartans.

The Spartans seem to dominate for most of the third period until 5:17 when Wantagh/Seaford scored to make it 5-4. Wantagh/Seaford seemed to have the momentum going for them at this point and scored with 1:37 of the third to tie the game. That's how the score remained 5-5 tie. I thought the Spartan's did a great job on the attack, they were very aggresive and moved the puck well. Great Job Spartans !
