Little League Parade starts the Baseball Season

The 64th Rockville Centre Little League Opening Day was held on Saturday.  To kick off the festivities, the League held its annual parade down the streets of the Incorporated Village of Rockville Centre.

But also again supplementing this yearly ritual, RVC Little League also collected non-perishable food to help the area's needy; the league's collection on behalf of the less fortunate has now surpassed 10,000 pounds of donated food.

At the beginning of the parade, the Rockville Centre Little League banner is held by players representing different ages groups.  They were joined by Parade Coordinator Salvatore Palazzo, Village Justice William J. Croutier Jr., Commissioner Michael Lawless (with Julia on his shoulders), Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino, RVCLL President Tom Bucaria, RVCLL VP Tom Wagner, Deputy Mayor Nancy Howard, Mayor Fran Murray, Trustee Ed Oppenheimer, Assemblyman Brian Curran, Judge Anthony Paradiso and Rockville Centre Police Chief Chuck Gennario.
