"Greetings from Fire Island" Featured on WLIW21's "Long Island Screening Room Tonight at 10 p.m.

WLIW21 continues its commitment to presenting the topics and issues most important to the Long Island community with Long Island Screening Room, which premiered in September 2013. The series continues with a new episode premiering tonight at 10 p.m. on WLIW21.

Long Island Screening Room, hosted and executive produced by Rockville Centre resident Diane Masciale, spotlights the work of professional and student filmmakers who work or study on Long Island, or who focus their camera on what makes up the fabric of the Long Island community.

This month's film is Greetings from Fire Island, a documentary that captures the natural beauty and history of a long wisp of land off the coast of Long Island's south shore.  Huffington Post blogger James Scarborough calls the documentary, "groundbreaking and fascinating" with "scrumptious visuals."  Long Island filmmakers, Glenn Gebhard and Dr. Frank Turano, research assistant professor, SUNY Stony Brook Ecology & Evolution Department, will be interviewed during the show.
