These are just some of the many questions we ask when diagnosed with cancer. A cancer diagnosis can be scary, overwhelming, and often isolating. Individual counseling and a support group can help.
If you are someone you love is in need of support after a breast or gynecological cancer diagnosis please contact us to find out about our comprehensive services offered at the Women’s Therapy Center in Plainview, NY. Our services are for women diagnosed with breast, uterine, vaginal, vulvar, endometrial, colon, and rectal cancer. You may be newly diagnosed, in active treatment, or living life after cancer. You may be newly diagnosed, in active treatment or living life after cancer.
Individual and group counseling is facilitated by Jennifer Kolton, LCSW and Cancer Specialist. Jennifer is one of the only therapists on Long Island who focuses solely on counseling women with cancer. Her experience includes working seven years at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City as a Breast Oncology Social Worker. Jennifer is currently the Oncology Social Worker at a large medical institution on Long Island.
The Women’s Therapy Center also specializes in counseling for women who are BRCA+ (with or without cancer diagnosis) and women diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy. We are also equipped to do individual counseling via SKYPE so please inquire if you are unable to travel.
SUPPORT GROUPS: At this time we are running FREE support groups for women with breast cancer. Groups are facilitated by Jennifer and meet at the Center on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Please call us to register or for more information about our group.
