In police news, three more women were arrested in the village for prostitution, and a man who tried to burglarize an Allen Road home was apprehended by RVC police. Two village cops were reportedly injured during the arrest. A North Woodmere man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly replaced purchased products at various CVS stores in Nassau County with phonies and then returned them as if they were sealed, police said.
In school news, the high school's drama club performed its fall drama, "Museum" and RVC Patch previews both Molloy College's men's and women's basketball teams for the 2010-11 season. We also profiled the high school's girl's cross country team, which finished the season as undefeated conference champions.
In community news, owner of Mid Island Collision, Bob Jesberger, donated $75,000 worth of holiday food and turkeys to needy local families.
In government news, the village board approved bonding $2 million worth of capital projects, and green lights an extension to Kasey's Kitchen and Cocktails, which will allow the eatery to construct a rooftop bar under certain guidelines and provisions.
