Village Announces Creation of the RVC Foundation

'RVC H.O.M.E.' seeking donations for Hurricane Sandy victims in neighboring communities.

Hurricane Sandy has devastated many families and businesses in neighboring towns. Mayor Francis X. Murray and the Rockville Centre Village Board of Trustees have announced that they have established the RVC Foundation to accept tax-deductible donations to assist neighbors in need.

The RVC Foundation will work with RVC H.O.M.E. (Helping Others Means Everything), created by a group of RVC residents whose mission is to provide services and financial assistance to area residents affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Members of RVC H.O.M.E. continue to assess neighbors in need, primarily in the Oceanside, Island Park, Long Beach, Freeport and East Rockaway communities, who have been seriously affected by the devastation of Sandy. Donations will allow RVC H.O.M.E. to offer specific financial support, wholesome meals and, in some instances, the replacement of home essentials to these families.

Thanks to many of residents, RVC H.O.ME. has already collected and delivered hundreds of lights, batteries, meals and other essential supplies to more than 75 families who remained in the dark in Oceanside, East Rockaway, Island Park and Long Beach.

Volunteers continue to reach out to the neediest sections of these communities and they are asking for Rockville Centre's continued support to assist neighbors in need.
