South Side Alum Stars in First Game with Hofstra Lax

Emily Considine scores four goals in first collegiate game.

Hofstra University freshman attacker and former South Side Cyclone Emily Considine was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week Monday.

Considine starred in her collegiate debut as she led Hofstra with four goals on five shots, while also adding in two ground balls.

The Rockville Centre native got the start in her first game and scored all four of her goals after intermission to help Hofstra rally from a 7-4 halftime deficit.

Led by Considine and sophomore attack Brittain Altomare (one goal, four assists), Hofstra rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to defeat New Hampshire, 13-12, in its season opener on Saturday.

Considine and the rest of the Pride return to action on Wednesday when they host Fairfield at 2 p.m.
