POLICE: RVC Woman Drives Drunk, Smashes Car on Southern State
Jacqueline Drake, 39, of RVC, was arrested for DWI.
A Rockville Centre woman was arrested early Tuesday morning for drunk driving after she crashed her car on the Southern State and had more than twice the legal blood alcohol content, police said.
According to New York State Police, a state trooper responded to a report of a one-car accident on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway near Franklin Avenue at 6:17 a.m.
Upon arrival at the accident scene, the trooper observed a gray Honda Accord with front-end damage. While interviewing the driver, Jacqueline Drake, 39, of Rockville Centre, the trooper detected a strong odor of alcohol. Drake failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI.

The defendant produced a positive breath sample of .17 percent BAC. The legal limit is .08 percent. Drake was charged with DWI and traffic violations.
