Crimes Nearby: Lakeview Man Fires Gun Outside Home

A Lakeview man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly firing multiple rounds from a shotgun outside of his residence.

According to police, around 12:20 a.m., Fifth Precinct police officers responded to Clinton Avenue for the report of shots fired.

An investigation revealed that the defendant, Sammie Spencer, 64, fired two rounds from a shotgun into the air outside of the residence, police said. No injuries were reported.

Lynbrook Crimes

At 4:57 p.m. on July 2, a complainant reports that after taking a taxi from the All-Island Taxi stand, located at the Lynbrook train station, he/she realized that belongings were left in the trunk of the taxi. The complainant called the taxi company and responded back to the taxi stand the next day to retrieve his/her belongings but found that one bag, which contained a Toshiba laptop computer, was missing. The value of the laptop is $400.

Around 1:40 a.m. on June 28, an unknown person(s) damaged the driver’s side tail light of a 2009 Jaguar using a water bottle, while it was parked on Walnut Street in Lynbrook. The value of the damage is $600.

Crimes in Valley Stream, Lakeview and West Hempstead

Three bikes were also stolen on June 2 from a location on W. Merrick Road in Valley Stream.

Items were stolen from a vehicle that was left unlocked while parked on Melvin Avenue in Lakeview between June 25 and June 26.

On June 30, an unknown person(s) removed two side-view mirrors from a vehicle parked in front of a North Valley Stream residence located on Arcadian Avenue.

Items went missing from a vehicle that had been parked on Arthurt Street in Lakeview between July 1 and July 2.

A victim in Valley Stream reported that between June 29 and June 30, the front windows of her Dewitt Street home were broken by unknown person(s).

An unknown person(s) punctured a hole in the rear tire of a vehicle parked on E. Valley Stream Boulevard in Valley Stream between June 28 and June 29.

The right passenger side of a car parked on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead was keyed.
