Crime Watch: Multiple Homes Burglarized Near N. Village Area

Recent police activity as reported by the RVCPD.

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

  • On Oct. 25 at 1:52 a.m., Claude Barrette IV, 28, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Wellington Street and N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On Oct. 25 at 6 p.m., Justin J. Mayers, 28, Moscow, Pa., was arrested for robbery in the first degree that reportedly occurred at 96 N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre on Sept, 23, 2011.
  • On Oct. 25 at 5:16 p.m., Donovan R. Hutchinson, 24, of Long Beach was arrested for an open Long Beach warrant for possession of alcoholic beverage following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Rockville Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On Oct. 26 at 5:16 p.m., Shawn A Thompson, 28, of Brooklyn was arrested while in the vicinity of Merrick Road for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and vehicle and traffic law violations.
  • On Oct. 28 at 8:58 a.m., Sebastian Mejia, 24, of Baldwin, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and vehicle and traffic law violations following a police investigation in the vicinity of Lakeview Avenue and N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.
  • On Nov. 1 at 3:38 a.m., Jason T. Simon, 35, of Long Beach, was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree following a police investigation at Merrick Road and N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre. An investigating detective sustained shoulder and hand injuries requiring medical attention when the defendant became violent during arrest processing at RCPD headquarters.
  • On Nov. 1 at 1:07 a.m., Trevor Lawry, 27, of Hempstead, was arrested for criminal possession of controlled substance in the third degree, criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree and aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree following a police investigation at Powell Avenue and Maple Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On Nov. 1 at 2:22 a.m., Nicholas J. Castronova, 21, of Port Jefferson, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a police investigation at Hempstead Avenue and Pine Street in Rockville Centre.
  • On Nov. 1 at 12:12 a.m., Elijah R. Davis, 30, of Oceanside, was arrested for disorderly conduct following a police investigation at 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

Robbery

  • On Oct. 24 at 8 p.m., a complainant from Queens Village reported that at approximately 7:20 p.m., a male acquaintance displayed a handgun and robbed him of $500 while in the vicinity of Municipal Parking Field No. 16, Sunrise Highway and N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre. The suspect reportedly fled eastbound on Sunrise Highway in a light gray Toyota motor vehicle.

Juvenile

  • On Oct. 27 at 8:55 p.m., a 15-year-old complainant from Rockville Centre reported that he was assaulted by a 14-year-old acquaintance while in the vicinity of Marlborough Court in Rockville Centre.

Burglary

  • On Oct. 26 at 11:52 a.m., a complainant from Allen Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown male suspect entered the residence without authorization and stole $500, an Apple laptop computer valued at $4,000, a bracelet valued at $1,000 and an Apple iPad valued at $1,000. The suspect fled the residence on foot in an unknown direction.
  • On Oct. 30 at 9:20 p.m., a complainant from Atkinson Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown male was observed in his 2010 ME/BZ motor vehicle parked in the driveway and that two doors, the electric meter and security panel of his residence were found to have been damaged sometime since 4 p.m. The suspect, who reportedly was possibly armed with a handgun, fled on foot toward N. Village Avenue and there was undetermined loss at the ransacked home at the time of report.
